You have reached Recombinant 8 syndrome support site.  Also known as San Luis Valley Syndrome. You have found a website created by a Rec8 family for Rec8 families.  We wanted a place for anyone affected by this genetic disorder to be able to discuss concerns, share stories, and educate one another.  Like you, we found scarce information scattered around the internet.  We met other families on the internet and shared experiences with them.  We found there was valuable information to be learned, but no central point for our families to share this information.  We are not doctors, just parents that believe in approaching Rec8 Syndrome as educated as possible, just like so many of you.  Our families are the ones who build this site, and our shared experiences help us enrich our children's lives, so please register, come in, and interact with others.
